Assistance with Daily Living & Domestic Tasks

Helping You Manage Everyday Chores and Routines for Greater Independence

This service provides practical help with the everyday tasks that make independent living possible. It covers assistance at home to ensure daily routines run smoothly. Our support workers help with personal care and domestic chores for participants who need it due to their disability. For example, the NDIS explicitly funds help with cleaning and laundry when a participant can’t perform these tasks themselves. This means if someone has difficulty bathing, dressing, cooking, or keeping their home tidy, we can step in to assist. The aim is to support participants’ goals by managing routine tasks safely and respectfully, so they can focus on living life rather than struggling with chores.

What’s Included in This Service?

Participants have a support plan that outlines which daily tasks they would like help with. Typically, a support worker visits the home on a set schedule and assists with those tasks. For example, in one visit we might help someone shower, get dressed, and prepare breakfast. In another, we might do vacuuming or laundry while the participant does what they can under supervision. We also help plan tasks – such as making a weekly cleaning schedule or shopping list. Our workers involve participants in the tasks as much as possible, to encourage skill development. All help is done with respect for privacy and routines. By providing this practical assistance, we ensure participants live in a safe, clean environment and learn to manage more of their daily living on their own.

Why Choose This Service?

Getting support with daily living tasks helps participants maintain their independence and quality of life at home. When chores and self-care are handled safely, people often feel less overwhelmed and more confident. Consistent support also promotes routines and hygiene, which improve health and well-being. Keeping a clean and organized home is recognized as a core NDIS support for independent living. Overall, participants gain dignity and freedom when they don’t have to struggle with tasks they can’t manage, and families can be confident their loved one’s day-to-day needs are met.
